//Tell us about yourself and your blog.

I’m Nique, pronounced nik, 24 years old and a new mom.  I was born in the Philippines, raised in Bahrain and is currently living in Japan. My blog is about being a wife, a mom and everything in between. My blog is my outlet so I rant a lot, tell stories about my day and adventures we had here. My husband will soon be going on deployment again so that’s pretty much what will come up on my blog in the coming months.

//What branch of military are you affiliated with?

My husband is with the US Navy. He’s been in the navy for three years. This is his first duty station and our PCS date was pushed back two more years so we’ll be calling Japan a little longer.

//What is one thing you enjoy about the military lifestyle?

The community. I love how people strike up random conversations with you just because they like your shoes or you just happen to be in line together. My favorite random conversations are when they see I’m a new mom and they start giving me parenting advice.

//What advice would you give other spouses who are new?

Surround yourself with positive people and just be brave. I’ve spent half of my first year as military spouse alone cause my husband was on deployment so it was the friends I met that help me through adjusting.
