In just a few months the husband will be away again for another three months. Last year, it was the adjustment year. It was the first underway as a married couple and as a wife left to fend for herself in Japan, pregnant.
This year is another adjustment year, this time it’s gonna be his first time to be away from the baby for a long period of time. By the time he gets back from deployment, Liam would be nine months already. He would have missed a huge part of Liam’s growth. Liam is just three months now and we are amazed at how much he had gown from the time we brought him home from the hospital. I feel the husband’s sadness every time I try to bring up the upcoming deployment. He’s afraid that because he’ll be away for so long Liam won’t remember him when he gets back. I think it’s silly but I do see his point.
We have a few weeks left before the dreaded summer deployment. Naturally, we plan to make the most out of it. We’re already planning a few trip alone and with the gang. Hopefully, that pulls through cause everyone has different schedules. We also plan to go to Build-A-Bear and record the husband’s voice talking to the baby or reading him a story.
I’ve also been playing with the idea of making Vlogs and post them on our family blog. A part of me wants to do it so that the husband can go online during ports and watch how our days went, the other part is scared of who else would see the video. Not posting it online is just not an option cause we can’t send videos when he’s underway. I don’t know yet, like I said I’m still playing with the idea of it. I’ll let you guys know what I decide, in case you might want to check it out. 🙂
